Peter G. Franzen, 72, of Myrtle Beach, S.
C., formerly of Bridgeton and Elmer, passed away peacefully in his sleep on
Saturday, April 17, 2004, in the Woodbury Wellness Center, located in
Hampstead, N. C.
Born Oct. 1, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Peter G. and Anna
Franzen, he was the husband of Phebe A. (Mayhew) Franzen for 52 years. They
were married in the, Cohansey Baptist Church, Roadstown.
Mr. Franzen was a well known former businessman in this area. He had owned
and operated Franzen’s Barber Shop in Bridgeton for several years, the
Vineland Car Wash on Delsea Drive in Vineland and was the original owner of
the River View Inn in Pennsville.
A loyal husband, a loving father and grandfather who will be remembered and
dearly missed by family and friends, he is survived by his wife Phebe; three
daughters and six grandchildren; Peggy and Joel Tew and daughter Antoinette
of Sneads Ferry, N. C., Patty and Michael Alexander and children Jason,
Alyssa and Richelle and step-son, Eric of Myrtle Beach, S. C. and Pauline
and Richard Kirkpatrick and daughter Victoria of Chandler, Ariz. He was
preceded in death by brothers Harry and Carl and sisters Tressa and Ann.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, April 23, at 2:00 O’clock in
the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township.
Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Township. Friends will be
received Friday afternoon between 1:00 and 2:00 O’clock, at the funeral
home. Following he services there will be a gathering held at the Golden
