Margaret “Miss Baby” Wise, age 81, of
Millville and formerly of Port Norris died early Tuesday morning at South
Jersey HealthCare-Newcomb where she had been a patient for three weeks. She
had been in declining health for the past three years.
Born in Exmore, Virginia, the daughter of
the late Charles and Eva Sheppard Blackstone, she was the wife of the late
Clifton Wise. She had been a Port Norris resident most of her life and had
resided in Millville for the past 16 months.
Before her retirement in 1984, Mrs. Wise
had been employed with the Gorton Seafood Company in Millville for 22 years.
Mrs. Wise was a member of the Shiloh
Baptist Church in Port Norris.
Survivors include three sons, Clifton
Wise, Jr. of Bridgeton, Craig Wise of Millville and Stanford Wise and his
wife Valarie of Crisfield, MD; five daughters, Mary Nutter of Belvedere, DE,
Earthalee Cullen of Crisfield, MD, Margaret Wise of Millville, Myra “Audrey”
Wise of Port Norris and Parmella Wise of Millville; one sister, Georgie
Greene of Baltimore, MD; a special friend, Sheila Forman of Millville, 14
grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She
was predeceased by two grandsons, Ken and Robert Wise.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday
at 1 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church, Memorial Avenue, Port Norris.
Friends may call on Saturday one hour
prior to the services at the church.
