Mildred Gehring Brown, age 93, of
Bridgeton died Saturday afternoon, December 18th at South Jersey Regional
Medical Center in Vineland after a brief illness.
A lifetime Bridgeton resident, she was the daughter of the late Howard and
Ida Mae Brown Gehring and the wife of the late Samuel E. Brown.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and had previously been employed with the former
New Jersey Bell Telephone Company for 20 years.
She was a long time member of Berean Baptist Church in Bridgeton and the
Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Shoemaker Post # 95 in Bridgeton for 57
years.
She is survived by two nieces, Dorothy Baum of Egg Harbor Twp. and Denise
Padgett of Cedarville; two nephews, Kenneth Gehring of Millville and Barry
Gehring of Woodbury and several grand nieces and grand nephews. She was
predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Ann Brown and a brother, Howard “Reds”
Gehring.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Thursday, December 23rd at 2:00
p.m.
Burial will be made at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
Friends may call on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the
services at the funeral home.
