Sidney V. Nelson, aged 91, of Clementon,
formerly of Mullica Hill, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, in
West Jersey Hospital, Marlton.
Mr. Nelson was born in Mt. Sterling, N. C. and was the son of the late David
B. and Lure Connard Nelson. He was the husband of the late Oma Mae McGaha
Nelson. They were married for 56 years. He had lived with his son in
Clementon for 1 ˝ years and prior to that he had been a resident of Mullica
Hill for 50 years.
Prior to his retirement in 1975, he had been employed with the Sun Ship Co.
in Chester, Pa., for 32 years.
Survivors include: three sons, Malcolm Nelson and James Nelson, both of New
Castle, Del. and Ruben Nelson, Clementon; one sister, Lola Mae Sutton,
Patterson, N. C.; eighteen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren
and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven
brothers, John Nelson, Wilburn Nelson, Hillard Nelson, Burl Nelson, Hardy
Nelson, Willy C. L. Nelson and Hughie Nelson; five sisters, Ethel McGaha,
Sarah McCarter, Nellie Whitehead, Martha Nelson and Annie Nelson and a
grandson, James Sidney Nelson.
His nephew, Rev. Jerry Nelson will conduct funeral services on Tuesday, Dec.
21, in Waynesville, N. C. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park,
Waynesville, N. C. Friends will be received at the Padgett Funeral Home,
1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Sunday evening, Dec. 19,
