Alexander J. Zatwaska, 91, of Deerfield
Township, died Thursday morning, Dec. 23, 2004, in Genesis Millville Center.
He had been in failing health for the past 8 months.
Mr. Zatwaska was born in Detroit, Mich. and was the son of the late Peter
and Bertha Olbec Zatwaska. He had been a resident of Deerfield Township for
50 years.
A veteran of World War Two, Alexander was a career serviceman, serving as
Chief Torpedo Man with the U. S. Navy in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Rosenhayn and was a
50 year member of the Fleet Reserve Assoc., Branch 1.
Survivors include: two sisters, Stella Zatwaska, Egg Harbor Township and
Bertha Paff, Upper Deerfield Township and several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Brennan and Anna Cini and two
brothers, Michael Zatwaska and Samuel Zatwaska.
Private graveside funeral services will be held at the convenience of the
family, in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rosenhayn. Burial will follow the services.
There will be no public viewing. Funeral services are under the direction of
