Charles E. Jackson, Sr., 77, of West
Leisenring, Pa., formerly of Bridgeton, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in
Uniontown Hospital. Uniontown, Pa., after a brief illness.
Mr. Jackson was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late Ira and
Winifred Clark Jackson. The husband of the late Shirley Lecorchick Jackson,
he had lived in West Leisenring since Oct. of 1997 and prior to that had
been a resident of Bridgeton.
Retired since 1988, he had been employed with Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville
for 3 years and prior to that with Precision Drawn Steel Co. in Camden for
29 years.
He was a veteran of World War Two, serving with the U. S. Army Air Force and
was a member of the Bridgeton Fifth Ward Club and the Italian American
Political Club of Bridgeton.
Survivors include: five daughters, Cheryl L. Parsons, Upper Deerfield
Township, Linda L. Spatola, Bridgeton, Debra J. Lilly, Uniontown, Pa.,
Roberta L. Algarin, Bridgeton and Lisa Henigin, Uniontown, Pa.; one son,
Charles E. Jackson, Jr., Uniontown, Pa.; two sisters, his twin, Hazel Ford
of Bridgeton and Lucy Dean, Hopewell Township; thirteen grandchildren and
nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by at daughter, Dolores
Jackson; three brothers, Alvin Jackson, Melvin Jackson and Nelson Jackson
and a sister, Margie Henderson.
Capt. Joy Wilson of the Bridgeton Salvation Army will conduct funeral
services in the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield
Township, on Tuesday morning, Feb. 24, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in
Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville. Friends will be received Tuesday morning
one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Written condolences can
