Leon W. Troup, Jr., 66, of Cape May Court
House, died Wednesday Feb. 11, in the emergency room at South Jersey
Healthcare-Newcomb, after a brief illness.
Mr. Troup was born in Eldora and was the son of the late Leon W. and Willa
Mae Turner Troup. He had lived at his present address for 6 years and prior
to that had lived in Woodbine.
He was employed with Lube Auto Service in Cape May Court House and prior to
that had been a truck driver with Spinelli Trucking in Vineland and Vinci
Express in Woodbine. He had also worked at South Shore Ford in Woodbine.
He was an avid motorcyclist and had belonged to several area motorcycle
clubs. He had attended the Eldora Public Schools and Middle Township High
School.
Survivors include: seven daughters, Renee Lynn Mason, Joyce L. Harden and
Denise D. Harden, all of Sicklerville, Carol D. Bell, Bridgeton and
Jacquelyn Goff and Deexteria M. Youmans of Millville and Lisa Santiago,
Camden; one son, Leon W. Harden, III, Millville; one brother, Melvin Troup,
Cape May Court House; two sisters, Rosie Troup, Rochester, N. Y. and Reva
Harden, Vineland, three step-sons, Horace Youmans and Darryl Youmans,
Millville and Tony Youmans, Bridgeton and many grandchildren, great
grandchildren, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12:00 O’clock noon in the First
Baptist Church, Adams Ave., Woodbine. Burial will be in Cape May County
Veterans Cemetery. Friends will be received two hours prior to the services
at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Padgett
Funeral Home, Upper Deerfield Township.
