Percival “Bucky” Pierce, Jr., age 77, of
Bridgeton died unexpectedly Monday morning, January 26, 2004 at South Jersey
Hospital-Bridgeton after being stricken at his home.
A lifetime Bridgeton resident, he was the
son of the late Percival and Rosella Pierce.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed with the security department at
Harrah’s Casino Hotel in Atlantic City for over 19 years. He had also
previously worked at Green Giant Foods in Vineland and the Martin Dye and
Finishing Company in Bridgeton several years.
Mr. Pierce was a veteran of World War Two
having served with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater. He was a
member of Masonic Lodge # 40 F.& A.M.
Surviving are two daughters, Arlena M.
Ridgway of Fairton and Jacqueline B. Dickerson of Richmond, VA; three sons,
James A. Pierce, Percival L. Pierce and Rodney A. Bailey all of Bridgeton,
14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He
was predeceased by a daughter, Janet L. Pierce, a brother, Morgan Pierce and
a sister, Arlena Pierce and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the
Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on
Saturday, January 31st at 12 Noon.
Burial will be made at the Cumberland
County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Township.
