Mary P. Paynter Dixon, 95, of Bridgeton,
died Sunday, May 16, 2004 at her home. She had been in declining health for
the past 5 months.
The wife of the late Frank Dixon, she was
born in Cedarville, the daughter of the late Wilmont and Gertrude Miller
Paynter. She’d lived at her present address for the past 60 years, and prior
to that had lived in Cedarville.
Prior to her retirement over thirty years
ago, she was an elementary school teacher in many of the area schools,
including Cedarville and Greenwich. Mary was an avid Bridge Player and
supported the Cumberland County S.P.C.A.
Survivors include one grandson, Navy
CAPT. William H. Cameron of Canberra, Australia and five
great-grandchildren, Rachel Cameron, Anna Cameron, Bradley Krall, Dixon
Krall and Elsie Krall. She was predeceased by a son, George Donald Maier, a
sister, Eva Lore, and a grandson, Douglas C. Krall.
Graveside committal services will be held
on Wednesday morning, May 19, 2004 at 11:00 O’clock at Cedar Hill Cemetery,
Lawrence Township. There will be no public viewing. Funeral services are
under the direction of the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77,
Upper Deerfield Township. The family asks that contributions in Mrs. Dixon’s
memory be made to the Cumberland County S.P.C.A, Sherman Avenue and Orchard
Road, Vineland, N.J. 08360.
