Emma Setzer, 85, of Upper Pittsgrove
Township, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, in South Jersey Healthcare-Bridgeton.
She had been in failing health for the past 3 years.
Mrs. Setzer was born in Deerfield and was the daughter of the late David and
Viola Pittman Nichols. The wife of the late Henry Hayes Setzer, who passed
away in February of this year, she had lived in Upper Pittsgrove for 46
years and prior to that had resided in Daretown and Deerfield.
Prior to her retirement in 1979, she had been employed with Anchor Hocking
Glass Co. in Salem for 25 years. Before that she had worked at Seabrook
Farms for several years.
She was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Pearl Gregg, Elmer and June Richardson,
Lenoir, N. C.; one son, Henry “Lucky” Setzer, Jr., Upper Pittsgrove
Township; two brothers, William Nichols and David Nichols, both of
Deerfield; one sister, Mildred “Midge” Phillips, Pittsgrove Township; seven
grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two
grandchildren, Terry Joyce, Jr. and Michele Moody and two sisters, Dorothy
Olsen and Delores Williams.
Funeral services will be held in the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Thursday afternoon, June 3, at 2:00
O’clock. Burial will be in Deerfield Methodist Cemetery, Upper Deerfield
Township. Friends will be received Thursday afternoon one hour prior to the
services at the funeral home.
