George L. Steever, age 75, of Vineland
died Friday morning, May 14, 2004 at South Jersey HealthCare-Bridgeton where
he had been a patient for the past 8 days. He had been in declining health
for the past 7 months.
Born in Fairton, the son of the late Evan
and Catherine Toms Steever, he was the husband of Elizabeth Miller Steever.
Mr. Steever had lived at his present address for 13 years and prior to that
had resided in Salem and Cedarville.
He had been a truck driver since the age of 18, working with various
trucking companies and then the RFC Container Company in Vineland before he
retired.
In addition to his wife, he is survived
by three daughters, Kathleen Sylvia Everington of Pompano Beach, Florida,
Sylviajane Dutton of Millville and Sheryl Lynn Caudell of Florida; one son,
Vincent Turpin of Tennessee; one sister, Florence Craddock of Vineland; one
brother, Charles Steever of New York; four grandchildren, Teddy Martin, Jr.,
Patilyn Saywack, Leon C. Everington and Hollie T. Dutton and four
great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Joseph
Steever and two sisters, Adeline McPherson and Elizabeth Holding.
Funeral services will be private at the
convenience of the family. At the family’s request there will be no public
viewing. Funeral services are under the direction of the Padgett Funeral
Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township. Written condolences
