Joann “Aunt Jo” Wen, 51, of Lawrence
Township, died Thursday morning, May 20, 2004, at her home. She had been in
failing health for the past 6 months.
Mrs. Wen was born in Severn, Md. and was the daughter of Elzina Edwards
Mundell of Maryland and the late Clarence Mundell. She had been a resident
of Lawrence Township for 6 years and prior to that had lived in Rosenhayn.
She had been employed with Genesis Eldercare-Millville Center for the past
14 years.
She received her early Christian training at Mt. Pilgram Baptist Church in
Hanover, Md. and attended Harman’s Elementary and McArthur Schools in
Maryland.
Besides her mother, survivors include: her husband, Enoch R. Wen; one son,
Phillip Wen and his wife Naomi, Cedarville; twin daughters, Rachell Mansaray
and her husband Mohamed and Michell Jalloh and her husband Osman; two
sisters, Frances Brown and Dr. Mable Fletcher and four brothers, Clarence
Mundell, Garfield Mundell, Larry Edwards and Wayne Mundell, all of Maryland;
seven grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by a brother Donald.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, May 22, at 1:00 O’clock,
in the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Morton Ave., Rosenhayn. Burial will be
in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield Township. Friends will be received one
hour prior to the services at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the
direction of the Padgett Funeral Home, Cedarville.
