John A. Adams
 

John A. Adams, age 85, of Bridgeton died Friday, November 12, 2004 at South Jersey Regional Medical Center where he had been a patient for three weeks.

Born in Clermont, Georgia, the son of the late Alfred and Grace McAfee Adams he was the husband of the late Jennie Rosypal Adams. He had been a Bridgeton resident for 7 years and prior to that had resided in Florida.

Mr. Adams was a veteran of World War Two having served with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater. He was an honorary life member of the Belleview, Florida American Legion Post 284 with 53 years of membership. He was also a member of First Wesleyan Church in Upper Deerfield Township and was an avid fisherman and gardener.

Surviving are a daughter, Florence Virginia Adams of New York City; four stepchildren, Dianne P. Wayne of Alloway Township, Fredrick A. Perry of Upper Deerfield Township, Everett F. Perry of Stow Creek Township and Wayne C. Perry of Fairfield Township, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a loving friend, Ruth Comly of Fairfield Township. He was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine DeFalco Adams.

The Rev. Dwight Mikesell conducted private funeral services at First Wesleyan Church.

Burial was made at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
