Ruth Harper Hancock Buckson
 

Ruth Harper Hancock Buckson, age 80, of Fairfield Township died Friday, October 29, 2004 at Genesis-Millville Center after an extended illness.

Born in Alloway Township, the daughter of the late Frank and Sophie Westcott Hancock, she was the wife of the late Millard F. Buckson. She had lived in the Bridgeton area most of her life.

Prior to her retirement she had been employed with the Cumberland County Meals on Wheels Program. She had also worked at the Markette Diner in Bridgeton, the Dietary Department at the former Millville Hospital, Mark Manufacturing Company in Bridgeton and at one time had owned and operated a Hamburger Deli in California for a few years.

Mrs. Buckson was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Bridgeton where she sang solo for church services. She also enjoyed singing at the weddings of relatives and friends. She was a member and past commander of the Joseph Tracey Sheppard Lodge 110 Ladies Auxiliary in Millville and an avid listener and participant in the former Delaware Valley Hotline program on WSNJ radio for many years. The phrase “May God Bless You and Keep You Safe Always” was her favorite saying.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth O. Mosley, Sr. and his wife Bonnie of Millville and John S. Hansen and his wife Liz of Upper Deerfield Township; four sisters, Priscilla H. Loder of Shiloh, Louella H. Elwell of Hopewell Township, Christina H. Phrampus of Santa Rosa, CA and Eva May Massey of Salem, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandson. She was predeceased by two sons, Norman R. Hansen, Jr. and William C. Hansen, a stepson, Bruce Buckson, two sisters, Dorothy H. Pierce and Frances L. Hancock and a brother, Thomas H. Hancock.

Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Thursday, Nov. 4th at 10 a.m.

Burial will be made at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
