John M. "Jack" Cobb, Jr.
 

John M. “Jack” Cobb, Jr., 76, of Bridgeton, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in the Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., where he had been a patient for 6 days. He had been in declining health for the past 6 months.

The husband of Beulah Beavers Cobb, he was born in Cedarville and was the son of the late John M. and Florence Dickerson Cobb. He had been a Bridgeton resident for the past 47 years, coming from Cedarville.

Prior to his retirement 11 years ago, he had been employed with Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville for 37 years and at the time of his retirement he held the position of Warehouse Supervisor.

He was a member of Fairton United Methodist Church and was a trustee board member of the church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of the Italian-American Political Club and the Fifth Ward Athletic Club, both in Bridgeton. Jack was an avid gardener and card player.

Besides his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Jaclyn D. Cobb, Westerly, R. I.; two brothers, Joseph B. Cobb and Maurice “Bunk” Cobb, both of Cedarville and one sister, Barbara F. Fithian, Fairton. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Burton Cobb, Fayette Cobb and Samuel Cobb.

His minister, Rev. Charles Mitchell, will conduct funeral services in the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 9, at 3:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedarville. Friends will be received Saturday afternoon between 1:30 and 3:00 O’clock, prior to the services at the funeral home. For those who desire the family suggests contributions, in Mr. Cobb’s memory, to Fairton United Methodist Church, 22 Main St., Bridgeton, N. J. 08302.
