Daniel J. Pettit, age 57, of Fairfield
Township died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at his home. He had been in declining
health for the past two months.
Born in Bridgeton, the son of the late W. Earl and Jane Haas Pettit he had
been a Fairfield Township resident most of his life.
He was employed by the Pennsville Board of Education as a boiler operator at
Pennsville High School for the past 15 years. Prior to that he had worked
for the Fairfield Township Board of Education for 10 years.
Dan was an avid motorcyclist and had taken part in many charity bike runs.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Cedarville and was
a counselor with the Alcoholics Anonymous organization for many years.
Survivors include a brother, Earl T. Pettit and his wife Carol of
Pennsville; two aunts, Marge Olah and Betty Mazzio both of Bridgeton; an
uncle, Frank Mazzio of Bridgeton, two nephews, one niece, two step-nephews,
one step-niece, several cousins and faithful companion, his dog “Shang”.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Padgett Funeral
Home, 160 Main Street, Cedarville.
Burial will be made at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville.
Friends may call on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the services at the
funeral home.
