Carmella G. Goldsboro
 


Carmella G. Goldsboro, aged 68, of Millville, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, in her home. She had been in failing health for the past 3 ˝ months.

The wife of Charles R. Goldsboro, she was born in Port Norris and was the daughter of the late Magdelena Smiley Cossaboon. She had been a Millville resident for 29 years and prior to that had lived in Fairfield Township.

She had been employed as a hostess with the former Benny’s Rustaurant in Millville for a number of years. Prior to that she had worked as a supervisor for the Lumar’s Manufacturing Co. in Dover, Del.

An active member of Trinity A. M. E. Church in Gouldtown, she had served on the Board of Trustees and as president of the Hospitality Committee.

She and her husband were avid travelers to parts of the U. S., Canada, Puerto Rico, France and Hawaii.

Besides her husband, survivors include: a sister, Eleanor G. Smith and her husband David, Port Norris; a brother, Donald Smiley, Groton, Conn.; nieces and nephews, Leslie Corbett, Larry Corbett and Ashley Corbett, Long Island, N. Y., Vera and David Overton, Flint, Mich. and Yvonne and Emanuel Overton, Flint, Mich.; a host of relatives and friends and a devoted sister-in-law, Edith Pierce.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 16, at 12:00 O’clock noon in Trinity A. M. E. Church, State Highway 49, Gouldtown. Burial will be in Haleyville Cemetery, Commercial Township. Friends will be received Thursday morning between 11:00 and 12:00 O’clock, prior to the services at the church.
