Joyce D. Smithson Haldeman, aged 69, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of
Bridgeton, died Sunday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2004 in Port St. Lucie. She had
been in failing health for the past 6 months.
Mrs. Haldeman was born in Woodbury and was the daughter of the late Eric R.
and Evelyn Burke Widmann. She had lived in Florida for the past 10 years and
prior to that had been a resident of Upper Deerfield Township.
She loved to entertain in her home and had a flair for interior decorating.
She also enjoyed baking, shopping and spending time in the summer at the
family beach home in Wildwood Crest.
Survivors include: her husband, John Haldeman; one son, R. Douglas Smithson
and his wife Beth, Millville; a sister, Joane LiCalzi, Bridgeton; three
grandchildren, Taylor Smithson, Millville, Brenden O’Shaughnessy and
Nicholas O’Shaughnessy, Clearwater, Fla. and one aunt, Dorothy E. Weir,
Wildwood Crest. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberley Joyce
O’Shaughnessy and a brother, Eric E. Widmann.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, Sept. 15, at 11:00 O’clock,
in the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield
Township. Burial will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Township.
