Rebecca M. Still, 75, of Salem, formerly
of Bridgeton, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, in the Memorial Hospital of
Salem County. She had been in failing health for the past 7 years.
Mrs. Still was born in Trenton and was the daughter of the late Irving
Pierce, Sr. and Angeline Winchester Pierce. She had lived in Salem for 4
years and prior to that had been a resident of Bridgeton.
She had formerly been employed with the Cumberland Manor Nursing Center.
She enjoyed dancing and shopping.
Survivors include: five daughters, Anna Mary Butler, Salem, Antionette Renee
Taylor, Woodbury, Joyce M. Rolle, Williamstown , Juanita R. Layne ,
Pennsgrove and Lavonne Butler, Lorraine, Ohio; four sons, Clayton W. Still,
Lorraine, Ohio, Roger W. Still, Woodbury, Earl Lawrence Dunne, Sr. and
Vincent R. Dunne, Sr., both of Salem; four brothers, William Pierce,
Jacksonville, Fla., Alvin Pierce, Fairton, Robert Pierce, Clarks Pond and
Terry Pierce, Bridgeton; four sisters, Lucille Bell, Mays Landing, Frances
Sanders and Trina Harold both of Bridgeton and Dorothy Pierce, Hopewell
Township; twenty-nine grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and two
great - great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William C.
Still, Jr., four brothers, Mason H. Pierce, Irving C. Pierce, Fred Pierce
and Charles Pierce and two sisters, Mary Doris Austin and Libby Pierce.
Rev. Mark Stoddard will conduct funeral services in Mt. Calvary 7th Day
Adventist Church, 5 Union St., Salem, on Monday afternoon, Sept. 27, at 1:00
O’clock. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell Township.
Friends will be received Monday afternoon one hour prior to the services at
the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Padgett
