Allen “Big Al” Burrus, 54, of Seabrook,
died Sunday afternoon, April 24, 2005, in S.J. Hospital-Regional Medical
Center, Vineland, after a brief illness.
Mr. Burrus was born in Fairfield Township and was the son of the late Thomas
H. and Elizabeth Saunders Burrus. He had lived in Upper Deerfield Township
for 45 years, coming from North Carolina.
Prior to retiring on disability he had been employed with B. & B. Poultry in
Norma for 15 years. Before that had worked for Johnson Farms n Deerfield.
Survivors include: two brothers, Thomas Burrus Jr., Upper Deerfield Township
and Carlton Burrus, Bridgeton; three sisters, Ruby Dell Burrus, Seabrook,
Patricia Burrus, Bridgeton and Diane Burrus, Seabrook; 13 nieces and nephews
and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, William
Burrus.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, April 30, at 1 o’clock, in
the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township.
Burial will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Township. Friends
will be received at the funeral home Saturday morning between 12 and 1
