Pauline K. VanLeer, 95, of Cedarville,
died Saturday, April 23, 2005, in the Cumberland Manor.
The wife of the late Joseph VanLeer, she was born in Coxes Corner, Hopewell
Township, and was the daughter of the late Edward and Matilda Maul Gosman.
Mrs. VanLeer had been a resident of Cedarville since 1967 and prior to that
she had lived in Camden.
She had formerly been employed with various sewing factories in Bridgeton,
Bodene’s Catering in Cedarville had had assisted her husband in the
operation of their farm in Fairton. She had also been an air raid worker,
assigned to getting people to safety during World War Two.
She was a member of Cedarville Baptist Church, Loyal Daughters of the
Church, A. A. R. P., Oak Height Senior Group and the Lawrence Township
Senior Center. Pauline enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends, gardening,
cooking and raising turtles.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert Maxwell and his wife Eleanor, Cedarville
and Edward Maxwell, Cedarville; two granddaughters, Donna Riebel and her
husband John and Robin Bundy and her husband Donald, both of Bridgeton and
four great grandchildren, Vincent Bertucci, III, Dominick Bertucci, Ryan
Bundy and John Max Riebel.
Her pastor, Rev. Robert Weigel, will conduct funeral services in the PADGETT
FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Wednesday
morning, April 27, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial
Park, Hopewell Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home
Wednesday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock. She was preceded in death
