Rose A. Buccos, age 77, of Upper
Deerfield Township, died Friday, August 12, 2005 at her late residence after
a brief illness.
Born in Bedford, Virginia the daughter of
the late Julius and Ruth Franklin Thomas she was the wife of the late Joseph
Buccos. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Gilbert Overstreet.
She had been an Upper Deerfield Township resident for 37 years and prior to
that had resided in Bridgeton.
Before her retirement 10 years ago, Mrs.
Buccos had been employed with the former Val Mode Lingerie Company and M.C.
Schrank Company in Bridgeton for 52 years.
She was a member of V.F.W. Meade-Woodward
Post and the American Legion Shoemaker Post 95 in Bridgeton and was an
auxiliary member of Order of Eagles, Bridgeton Airy. She was an avid
traveler.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne
Solorzano, Elmer; two sons, James G. Overstreet, Pitman and John D.
Overstreet, Hopewell Township; her long time companion, Phil Caporel; three
brothers, George Thomas, Roanoke, Va., Bobby Thomas, Montvale, Va. And Alvin
Thomas, Daleville, Va.; four sisters, Mary Orange, Bedford, Va., Mabel
Dobins, Roanoke, Va., Jane Harbaugh, Clinton, Mo. and Ruby Thomas, Montvale,
Va.; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by two brothers, Edward Thomas and Aubrey Thomas and a sister, Mattie
Cruce.
Funeral services will be held at the
PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on
Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 16th, at 2:00 O’clock. Burial will be at Laurel Lawn
Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral
home on Monday evening between 7:00 and 9:00 O’clock. In lieu of flowers the
family suggests contributions to Hospice of South Jersey, 2848 South Delsea
