Joseph L. Dunn, Sr.
 

Joseph L. Dunn, Sr., 76, of Fairfield Township, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., where he had been a patient for 1 day. He had been in failing health for 7 months but his death was unexpected.

The husband of Dorothy Pierce Dunn, he was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late Howard Dunn, Jr. and Francis Wallace Dunn. He had been a lifetime resident of Fairfield Township.

Retired since 1989, he had been employed with Martin Dye & Finishing Co. for many years. Prior to that he had worked for the former Shoemaker Dairies and Abbott’s Dairies.

He had been a Jehovah’s Witness for over 60 years and was a member of the Centerton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Joseph loved his family, children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Mary Ellen Heggs, Bridgeton and Mona Lisa Dunn, Fairfield Township; three sons, Littleton J. Pierce, Jr., Newport News, Va., Joseph L. Dunn, Jr., Glassboro and Troy Monroe Dunn, Fairfield Township; two brothers, Madison L. Dunn, Greensboro, N. C. and Howard W. Dunn, Brooklyn, N. Y.; one sister, Mary Louise Moore, Fairfield Township; four grandchildren, Eugene Vann, 5th., Demetrius Pierce, Dominic J. Pierce and Myra Lynn Dunn and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Daryl S. Dunn.

Memorial services will be held in the Kingdom Hall of the Centerton Congregation, Jehovah’s Witnesses, 26 Husted Station Road, Upper Deerfield Township, on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 12:00 O’clock noon. There will be no public viewing. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
