Mildred Bacon Hayes, age 90, of
Pittsgrove Township died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at
the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Barbara Hayes with
whom she had resided for the past year and a half.
Born in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa the
daughter of the late Walter and Nettie Knight Bacon, she was the wife of
the late Ordam “Nig” Hayes. She had been a Fairfield Township resident
for many years before returning to Newport and Bybee Tennessee after her
retirement.
When she lived in this area she had
been employed with the former County Hospital in Hopewell Township as a
nurse’s aide. She had also worked at the former Ivy Hall Nursing Home in
Bridgeton.
In addition to her son and
daughter-in-law, she is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Peterson and
her husband Steelman of Millville; a brother, Joe Bacon of Newport, TN,
20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2
great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four sons, James,
Edward, Hardy and Alvin Hayes and two sisters, Kay Carlson and Hazel
Maylo.
A private visitation for the family
will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper
Deerfield Township.
Funeral services will be held at the
Brown Funeral Home in Newport, Tennessee.
Burial will be made at Liberty Hill
Cemetery in Bybee, Tennessee.
