Lillian H. Johnson, 80, of Fairfield
Township, died at her home on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005. She had been in
failing health for the past year.
The wife of Melvin W. “Bucky” Johnson, she was born in Stow Creek
Township and was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Mary Elizabeth
Pierce. She had lived in Fairfield Township for 35 years and prior to
that had resided in Shiloh.
Before her retirement Lillian had been employed with the former Theber
Corporation in Bridgeton for many years.
She attended St. John’s United Methodist Church in Fordville and was a
member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indians and the Young Peoples
Progressive Club.
Besides her husband, survivors include: five sisters, Marian D. Pierce,
Fairfield Township, Evelyn I. Carney, Pennsauken, Geraldine E. Howard,
Eatontown, Elizabeth M. Ridgway, Fairton and Gladys L. Dungee,
Philadelphia, Pa. and several niece and nephews and great nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry W. Pierce, Jr.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Friday morning, Dec. 16, at
11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield
Township. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Thursday evening
between 6:00 and 8:00 O’clock and Friday morning between 10:00 and 11:00
