Walter O. Johnson, 67, of Bridgeton,
died in the S. J. R. M. C. – Vineland, on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005. He had
been in failing health for 5 years and a patient in the hospital for the
past month.
The husband of Carolyn Williams Johnson, he was born in Bridgeton and
was the son of the late Eugene and Ella Brown Johnson. He had been a
lifetime resident of Bridgeton.
Prior to his retirement he had worked in security at the Claridge Hotel
& Casino in Atlantic City. Previous to that had had been employed with
Hunt Foods in Bridgeton for 25 years.
Walter was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Besides his wife, survivors include: four sons, Walter Johnson, Jr.,
Delaware, Jack Johnson, Romaine Williams and Kenzie Williams, all of
Bridgeton; one daughter, Sandra Robinson, Roanoke, Va.; two sisters,
Patricia Brooks, Syracuse, N. Y. and Frances Barresi, Bridgeton;
nineteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by a sister, Jessie Carter.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Monday afternoon, Dec. 19, at
2:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell
Township. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Monday afternoon
between 1:00 and 2:00 O’clock. Written condolences may be sent to the
