Robert M. Weldon, Sr., 53, of
Newport, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005. He had
been in failing health for the past 3 years.
The husband of Linda Oliver Weldon, he was born in Bridgeton and was the
son of the late Albert Weldon II and Beatrice Stewart Weldon. He had
been a lifetime resident of Newport.
Robert had formerly been employed with Southern States Correctional
Facility for 15 years and prior to that with Wheaton Glass Co.
He enjoyed camping.
Besides his wife, survivors include: one son, Robert Weldon, Jr.,
Newport; one daughter, Diania Buchecker, Millville; one sister, Dawn
Leatherwood, Newport and three grandchildren, Patrick Weldon, Nicoleen
Buchecker and Helen Buchecker, all of Millville.
A public viewing will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main St.,
Cedarville, on Friday afternoon, Dec. 30, between 2:00 and 3:00 O’clock.
Cremation will follow in Laurel Lawn Crematory. Written condolences may
