Marie M. Hitchner, aged 71, of Bridgeton,
died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, in South Jersey Regional Medical Center,
Vineland. She had been in failing health for the past 3 years and a hospital
patient for two months.
Mrs. Hitchner was born in Johnstown, Pa. and was the daughter of the late
John and Mary Kuzmyak Masoryak. She had been a Bridgeton resident for 51
years, coming from Johnstown, Pa.
Prior to retiring 5 years ago, she had been employed with the former
Tinker’s Seafood in Upper Deerfield Township, for 12 years. Before that she
had worked at the former Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for 30 years.
A graduate of Johnstown High School, Class of 1951, she had attended
Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeton.
Survivors include: one son, Marvin K. Hitchner, III, Bridgeton; two sisters,
Jean Rugenus, Bridgeton and Anne Harshburger, Harrisburg, Pa. and two
grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Hitchner, Bridgeton and Byron K. Hitchner,
Jr., Fairton. She was preceded in death by a son, Byron K. Hitchner and four
brothers, John Masoryak, Nicholas Masoryak, Steven Masoryak and Joseph
Masorak.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 312
North Pearl St., Bridgeton, on Saturday morning, Jan. 29, at 10:00 O’clock.
Cremation will take place in Laurel Lawn Crematory, Upper Deerfield
Township. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the charity of
ones choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Padgett
