Gail M. Stanley, aged 69, of Greenwich,
died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2005, in South Jersey Hospital – Elmer. She had been
in failing health for the past 4 months.
The wife of the late Frank W. Stanley,
she was born in Woodbury and was the daughter of the late Michael D. and
Helen Wilson McCallick. She had been a resident of Greenwich for the past 47
years and prior to that had lived in Bridgeton.
Gail was presently employed as a learning
consultant with the Gloucester Board of Education. She had previously been
employed with Upper Deerfield Township in the same capacity and was the
former Headmistress of St. John’s Day School in Jericho.
She was an active member of First
Presbyterian Church of Bridgeton and was an ordained Elder in the
Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Nancy
W. Stanley and her partner Robin Salant, Metuchen and Patricia W. Stanley
and her fiancée John Lynch, Greenwich; a sister in law, Florence Higgons and
her husband, Rev. Canon E. Thomas Higgons, Greenwich; aunt and uncle,
Elizabeth and Rev. Ralph Barrett, Greenwich and their daughter, Rev.
Patricia Barrett, Nashville, Tenn.; uncle, John Wilson, North Carolina;
three nieces, Rebecca Higgons, Greenwich, Susan Scarborough, Greenwich and
Christine Stanley, Virginia and two great nieces, Abigail and Alexis Higgons,
Greenwich.
Memorial services will be held on
Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 at 11:00 O’clock a.m. in the First Presbyterian
Church, 107 West Commerce St., Bridgeton.
Inurnment will be made at Laurel Lawn
Crematory, Upper Deerfield Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
donations in Gail’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Eastern Div.
Inc., Cumberland Unit, P.O. Box 5066, Cherry Hill, N.J. 08034-5066. Funeral
