Kenneth A. Burgess, 55, of Millville,
died Thursday, July 21, 2005, in S. J. R. M. C., Vineland, where he had been
a patient since June 30th. He had been in failing health since May of this
year.
The husband of Linda Sawyer Burgess, he was born in Bridgeton and was the
son of the late Eddie Burgess and Hazel Smith Burgess. He had lived at his
present address for 6 years and prior to that had been a resident of
Bridgeton.
He had been employed with Cumberland County Alcohol & Drug Abuse Services
for the past 15 years and prior to that had worked at Fairfield Pallet
Company.
Kenneth was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Viet Nam
Conflict. He enjoyed restoring old cars and building things.
Besides his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Sharolyn Diana Burgess,
Millville; one son, Christopher Bruce Burgess, Millville; one brother,
Thomas Burgess, Wilmington, N. C. and two sisters, Kathy French, Hopewell
Township and Cora Burgess, Hopewell Township. He was preceded in death by
three brothers, Edward W. Burgess, Richard A. Burgess and Edward T. Burgess.
Rev. Tim Boner will conduct funeral services in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME,
1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Tuesday afternoon, July
26, at 1:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell
Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home Tuesday between 12:00
and 1:00 O’clock, prior to the services at the funeral home. Written
