Anna Dickinson, 90, of Pittsgrove
Township, formerly of Fairton, died at her home Sunday morning, July 17,
2005, after a brief illness.
The wife of the late Sherman C. Dickinson, she was born in Elmer and was the
daughter of the late Elwood and Ray Garton Shiles. She had been a Pittsgrove
resident for the past 16 years and prior to that had resided in the
Bridgeton area for most of her life. She was also preceded in death by her
first husband, Watson Richey.
Prior to her retirement she had formerly been employed with Wheaton Glass
Co. in Millville.
Anna was a member of the Centerton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include: two sons, Sherman C. Dickinson, Jr., Blossberg, Pa. and
William J. Dickinson, Upper Deerfield Township; two daughters, Dorothy
Stratton, Upper Deerfield Township and Peggy Dickinson, Pittsgrove; two
sisters, Jennie Vanderslice, Bridgeton and Frances Saul, Elmer; thirteen
grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and three great-great
grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by: two daughters, Betty
Rogers and Marilyn Lupton; a sister, Julia Volkmar and four brothers, Elwood
Shiles, Frank Shiles, Millard Shiles and Martin Shiles.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, July 20, at 11:00 O’clock,
in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield
Township. Burial will be in Olivet Cemetery, Pittsgrove Township. A viewing
will be held Wednesday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock, prior to the
