Paul L. Wheeler, III
 

Paul L. Wheeler, III, 65, of P.O. Box 66, Deerfield Street, NJ 08313, passed away Thursday evening, July 28, 2005 at South Jersey Hospital-Elmer, NJ.

The husband of Ginger J. Angell Wheeler, he was born in Staten Island, NY and was the son of Bernice Ocker Wheeler of Upper Deerfield Township and the late Paul L. Wheeler, Jr. He had lived in Upper Deerfield Township for the past 3 years and prior to that had been a resident of Alexandria Township in Hunterdon County, NJ.

Prior to his retirement 15 years ago, he was a self-employed Ships Pilot with the Sandy Hook Pilots Association for 22 years. After his retirement he had worked as a school bus driver with the Delaware Valley School District in Frenchtown, NJ for 13 years.

Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of Host Lodge, in High Bridge, NJ; Great Kills Lodge, Staten Island, NY and Past Patron of Orion Chapter O.E.F. in Frenchtown, NJ.

Besides his wife and mother, survivors include a daughter, Janice L. Rouse and her husband Erik of Hopewell Township, NJ; a son, Paul L. Wheeler, IV of Holland Township, NJ; one brother, Frank Wheeler of Blandon, PA; one sister, Gladys Betso of Staten Island, NY and four grandchildren. He was the devoted “Poppy” of Nichole L. Rouse and Shane E. Rouse, both of Hopewell Township. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Wheeler.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday evening, August 3rd, at 8:00 o’clock at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township. Friends will be received Wednesday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 o’clock, prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Mr. Wheeler’s memory be made to, PanCan, 2141 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 7000, El Segundo, CA 90254.
