Elizabeth C. “Betty” Ayars, aged 90, of
Upper Deerfield Township, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, in S. J. R. M. C.,
Vineland, where she had been a patient for the past 6 days.
Mrs. Ayars was born in Milledgeville, Ga. and was the daughter of the late
William M. and Elizabeth McCook Coleman. She had lived at her present
address for 50 years and prior to that had been a resident of Bridgeton.
Betty was a beautician in this area for over 65 years and had owned and
operated the Betty Adams/Ayars Beauty Shop in Bridgeton. She started her
career at the former White Palace Beauty Shop in Bridgeton.
Preceded in death by first husband, Harry R. Adams and her second husband
Clifton Ayars, she is survived by: a daughter, Connie E. Perry, Bridgeton;
one sister, Gladys Gerald, Washington State; seven grandchildren; thirteen
great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded
in death by a son, Keith Adams and two sisters, Kitty Sharp and Alma Hiles.
Private memorial services will be held in Strathmere, at the convenience of
the family. There will be no public viewing. Funeral arrangements are under
