John T. Bard, 71, of Upper Deerfield
Township, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, in S. J. R. M. C., Vineland. He had
been in failing health for the past 6 months.
The husband of Christina Pierce Bard, he was born in Elmer and was the son
of the late William and Louise Johnson Bard. He had lived in Upper Deerfield
for 5 years and prior to that had resided in Cedarville.
John had been employed as a truck driver with Ferrari Trucking Co. in
Vineland for several years.
He was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indian Tribe. He enjoyed
country music, fishing, hunting and playing his mandolin.
Besides his wife, survivors include: two sons, John Bard, Jr. and Michael
Bard; five daughters, Cheryl Bard, Lucy Bard, Brenda Garfole, Kathy Garcia
and Lisa Bard; one sister, Doris Carney; three brothers, Walter Bard,
Benjamin Bard and Robert Bard; twenty two grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Bard and four
sisters, Maryanne Gould, Edith Brent, Terry Sheffeld and Grace Steward.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, June 18, at 11:00 O’clock,
in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield
Township. Burial will be in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield Township. A
viewing will be held at the funeral home Saturday morning between 10:00 and
