Ruth Porter, 82, of St. Charles, Mo.,
formerly of Upper Deerfield Township, died at her home Wednesday evening,
June 8, 2005.
The wife of the late Volney H. Porter, she was born in Bridgeton and was the
daughter of the late William and May Williams McDermott. She had lived in
St. Charles for 7 years and prior to that had been a resident of Upper
Deerfield and Cedarville.
Ruth was a member of the Greenwich Baptist Church and while living in St.
Charles she had attended the First St. Louis Church of Christ.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jeannie O’Brien and Linda Boll and her
husband Dennis, both of St. Charles, Mo.; a step-daughter, Jan Doescher,
Carson City, Nev.; one brother, William McDermott, Bridgeton; two sisters,
Hannah Peacock, Bridgeton and Clara Sutton, Lakewood, Colo.; three
grandchildren, J. Patrick O’Brien, Broken Arrow, Okla., Vasko Boll and Iesha
Boll, both of St. Charles, Mo.; one great granddaughter, Kaylin E. O’Brien
and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters,
Elizabeth Fisher and Margaret McDermott.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning, June 13, at 11:00 O’clock, in
the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township.
Burial will be in Greenwich Baptist Cemetery, Greenwich. A viewing will be
held at the funeral home on Monday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock,
