Edward P. Smith, age 86, of Hopewell
Township died Sunday, June 26, 2005 at the South Jersey Regional Medical
Center in Vineland after a brief illness.
Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late
George and Marie Druling Smith, he was the husband of the late Carol Hill
Smith. He had been a Hopewell Township resident for 8 years moving to the
area from St. Augustine, Florida.
Prior to his retirement in 1974, Mr.
Smith had been employed as a supervisor with the United States Postal
Service in Philadelphia.
He was a veteran of World War Two having
served with the United States Army and was stationed in Iceland. A 20 year
member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary in Florida, he was also a
member of U.S.C.G. Flotilla # 34 of Millville for 7 years. He also held
membership in the South Jersey Radio Control Society.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie Morgen
and her husband Bob of Hopewell Township and two grandsons, Robert Morgen,
Jr. of St. Augustine, FL and Michael Edward Morgen of Cherry Hill.
Cremation and inurnment took place at
Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Township. Interment will be private
at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of
the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township.
