Dorothy T. Doughty, 96, of Bridgeton,
died Thursday, March 31, 2005, in the Renaissance Nursing Center, Bridgeton.
She had been in failing health for the past few years.
The wife of Ellsworth H. Doughty, she was born in Bridgeton and was the
daughter of the late Winfield and Elizabeth Agnew Baldwin. She had been
Bridgeton area resident for many years and had also resided in Cape May
Court House.
Prior to her retirement in 1971, Dorothy had been employed with the former
Fishman & Tobin Clothing Co. and the former Theber Clothing Co., both of
Bridgeton. She had also worked for the former Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in
Bridgeton.
She and her husband would have celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary
this year.
Besides her husband, survivors include: a granddaughter, Kathi L. Cheeseman,
Fairfield Township; and one sister, Edith Meehan, Hopewell Township. She was
preceded in death by a daughter, Joan M. Sooy; two brothers, Winfield
Baldwin and Fred Baldwin and two sisters, Betty Bard and Margaret Williams.
Rev. Donald Harrington will conduct funeral services in the PADGETT FUNERAL
HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Wednesday morning,
April 6, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Greenwich Baptist Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Wednesday morning one hour prior to the services
