Elsie F. Peterson, age 89, of Money
Island died Thursday morning, March 24, 2005 at the South Jersey Regional
Medical Center in Vineland where she had been a patient for two weeks.
Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the
late Louis and Charlotte Gill Fischer she was the wife of the late William
H. Peterson. She had been a Money Island resident for 30 years and had lived
in Newport previous to that.
Before her retirement in 1980, Mrs.
Peterson had been employed with the Airwork Corporation in Millville for 23
years and also the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Camden. She had
also previously worked for the late Judge Francis Stanger in Cedarville.
A graduate of Collingswood High School
and the Taylor’s Business School in Philadelphia, she was a member of the
Christ Lutheran Church in Bridgeton and had played the organ at the Newport
Baptist Church and the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Oaklyn. She was also a
member of the Downe Township Senior Center.
Surviving are a son, William H. Peterson,
Jr. of Murrietta, CA; a daughter, Charlotte M. Harris of Cedarville; a
stepdaughter, Ruth Harris of Middletown, DE; five grandchildren, Jennifer,
Dennis, Casey, Ty and Tad and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the
Padgett Funeral Home, 160 Main Street, Cedarville on Monday, March 28th at
10:00 a.m.
Burial will be made at Newport Baptist
Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday evening from
7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
