Donald B. Woodward, Sr., 64, of
Bridgeton, died at his home on Sunday morning, March 13, 2005, after a
lengthy illness.
The husband of Charlotte McPherson Woodward, he was born in Bridgeton and
was the son of the late Merrill and Laura Hickman Woodward. He had been a
lifetime resident of Bridgeton.
Prior to his retirement in 1996 he had been employed with Bianco Bros. Auto
Body Shop in Bridgeton for many years. He had also been employed with the
former Perry’s Auto Body Shop and Pete & Hitch.
Donald was a member of the Fifth Ward Athletic Club and was an avid
fisherman and hunter. Mr. & Mrs. Woodward would have celebrated their 45th
wedding anniversary on April 2nd of this year.
Besides his wife, survivors include: two sons, Robert B. Woodward and Donald
Woodward, Jr., both of Bridgeton; one sister, Marion Forss, Millville; a
half brother, Thomas Woodward, Fairfield Township; one granddaughter, Hollie
Bedford, Wilson, N. C.; two great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and
his dog “Jackie”. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Woodward; two
brothers, Earl Woodward and Merrill Woodward, Jr. and five sisters, Emma
Myers, Esther Garrison, Laura Gabriel, Blanche Rose and Patricia Whilden.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, March 16, at 11:00 O’clock
in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield
Township. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Township.
