Grace M. Horner, 77, of Vero Beach, Fla.,
formerly of Bridgeton, died at her home on Thursday, May 19, 2005. She had
been in failing health for the past 2 years.
The wife of Lawrence “Whitey” Horner, her devoted husband for 59 years, she
was born in Bridgeton and was the daughter of the late Winfield and Grace
Hawk Morgan. She had been a lifetime resident of Bridgeton until moving to
Florida in July of 2004. She and her husband had been winter residents in
Florida for the 15 years.
Prior to her retirement Grace had been employed with the former
Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton in the selecting department for 33
years. While in Florida she had also enjoyed working for 8 seasons in
Dodgertown, the Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training Facility in Vero Beach,
Fla.
She was a member of Pearl Street Baptist Church and had been a 26 year
volunteer in the concession stand for the Bridgeton Softball Church League.
Besides her husband, survivors include: two daughters, Kay Ballinger of
Bridgeton and Karen Bowman and her husband Corky of Vero Beach, Fla.; three
sisters, Millie Bertolini, Bridgeton, Virginia Joiner, Virginia Beach, Va.
and Louella Roccia and her husband Michael, Vineland; several nieces and
nephews and a devoted friend, Linda Caokley. She was preceded in death by
two brothers, Winfield Morgan and Robert Morgan and two sisters, Patricia
Goff and Iris Morgan.
Funeral services will be held on Monday morning May 23, at 11:00 O’clock, in
the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township.
Burial will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Township. Friends
will be received at the funeral home on Monday morning between 10:00 and
11:00 O’clock. For those who desire, contributions may be made to your local
