Betty Jean Ward Mills, 49, of Millville,
died Sunday, May 29, 2005, in South Jersey Extended Care, Bridgeton. She had
been in failing health for the past 4 years.
The wife of Ossie C. Mills, she was born in Rosenhayn and was the daughter
of the late Benjamin and Alice Mutts Ward. She had lived in Millville for
the past 10 years and prior to that had been a resident of Bridgeton.
Betty Jean was a Certified Nurses Aide and had formerly been employed at
South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton. She had also worked for the Wheaton
Tubing Co. in Millville.
She was a member of Grace Ministries Church in Vineland.
Besides her husband, survivors include: two daughters, Maria Ward, Bridgeton
and Jessica Ward, North Carolina.; five sisters, Alice McKenzie, Vineland,
Evelyn Crawford, Bridgeton, Lavenia Ward, Anna Ward and April Ward, all of
Vineland; two brothers, Jessie Mutts, Bridgeton and Benjamin Ward, Vineland;
five step-daughters, Debra Allen, Seabrook, Patricia Goldsboro and Pearl
Gallaher, both of Columbus, Ohio, Delores Dentis, Indiana and Sabrina Mills,
Millville; four step-sons, Ossie Mills, Jr., Anthony Mills and Lonnie Mills,
all of Bridgeton and Kenneth Mills, Indiana; seven grandchildren and many
step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 110t State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Saturday, June 4, at 12:00 O’clock
noon. Burial will be in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield Township. Friends
will be received at the funeral home Saturday morning between 11:00 and
