Johnnie B. Gray

Johnnie B. Gray, 74, of Bridgeton, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, in S. J. R. M. C.-Vineland, after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Gray was born in Adel, Georgia and was the son of the late Lee D. and Daisy Leonard Gray. He had been a Bridgeton resident for 48 years, coming from Georgia.

Retired since 1998, he had been employed with Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville for 22 years. Prior to that he had worked at the former Jersey Tyler Co. in Bridgeton for 20 years.

Johnnie was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U. S. Army. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and received three Bronze Service Stars. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Teamsters Union at Wheaton’s.

Survivors include: four daughters, Dorothy Floyd, Essie Allen and Angelic Phillips-Green, all of Bridgeton and Marva Lewis, Sicklerville; two sons, Johnnie Bill Gray, Jr., Bridgeton and Jerry Lee Gray, Salem; three brothers, Lee Gray, Jr., Vineland, James Gray, Sweden and Larry Gray, Bridgeton; one sister, Laura Brown, Bridgeton; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway, Upper Deerfield Township, on Friday morning, Nov. 11, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell Township. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Friday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock.
