Ellsworth H. Doughty, 95, of
Bridgeton, died Thursday evening, Oct. 20, 2005, in South Jersey
Extended Care-Bridgeton.
The husband of the late Dorothy Baldwin Doughty, he was born in
Greenwich and was the son of the late Herman and Edna Johnson Doughty.
He had been a resident of Bridgeton for most of his life.
He was a painter by trade and prior to his retirement in 1976, he had
worked with John Hatfield Painting in Bridgeton and prior to that with
Ed Alquist Painting, also in Bridgeton.
Survivors include: a granddaughter, Kathi L. Cheesman, Fairfield
Township and two brothers, Leon Doughty, Mullica Hill and Ellsworth
“Jake” Doughty, Florida. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by
his only daughter, Joan M. Sooy and two brothers, Clarence Doughty and
Herman Doughty.
Rev. Donald Harrington will conduct funeral services in the PADGETT
FUNERAL HOME. 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Monday
morning, Oct. 24, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Greenwich Baptist
Cemetery, Greenwich. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on
Monday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock. Written condolences may
