Mildred M. Gleydura, 70, of Upper
Deerfield Township, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, in S. J. R. M. C.-
Vineland, after a brief illness.
The wife of Martin Gleydura, she was born in Hastings, Pa. and was the
daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Stritmatter Abel. She had been a
resident of Upper Deerfield Township since 1960.
Prior to her retirement Mildred had been employed in the cafeteria at
Cumberland Regional High School for 27 years. Prior to that she had
worked at Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville for 5 years.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeton, the
Ladies Auxiliary of the Elk’s Lodge, a past president of the North
Cumberland Cinderella Softball League and was a member of the Upper
Deerfield Township Board of Elections for several years. She had also
helped when her church formerly had a Bingo Night.
Besides her husband, survivors include; one son, George M. Gleydura,
Upper Deerfield Township; one daughter, Maria G. Mudge, Newtown, Pa.;
three brothers, Eloi Abel, Altoona, Pa., Walter Abel, Denver, Colo. and
Clayton Abel, Beaumont, Tex.; two sisters, Amelia Yachtis, Hastings, Pa.
and Dorothy Falcone, Bridgeton and two grandchildren, Christopher
Gleydura and Ashley Gleydura. She was preceded in death b a brother,
Patrick Abel and two sisters, Edna Becker and Theresa Yanher.
Her Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate
Conception, 312 North Pearl St., Bridgeton, on Saturday morning, Oct.
29, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper
Deerfield Township. A viewing will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME,
1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Friday evening
between 7:00 and 9:00 O’clock and Saturday morning between 9:30 and
