George E. Paroda, Jr., 69, of Bridgeton,
died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, in Cooper Hospital U. M. C.,
Camden, where he had been a patient for one day.
The husband of Anna Ruth Hutchinson
Paroda, he was born in Maxwell, Pa. and was the son of the late George E.
and Helen Lucas Paroda. He had been a Bridgeton resident of 50 years and
prior to that he had lived in Pennsylvania.
Retired for the past 7 years, he had
formerly been employed the Cumberland Manor for 12 years. Prior to that he
had worked at the Cumberland County Court House and with the former
Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for 29 years.
George was an active attendee at Pearl
Street Baptist Church in Bridgeton and had formerly been a volunteer fireman
with the City of Bridgeton. He was a member of Quinton Gun Club and enjoyed
his grandchildren and family, sports and outdoor activities.
Besides his wife, survivors include: two
sons, George E. Paroda, III and his wife Gilda, Charleston, S. C. and Mark
A. Paroda and his wife Tonya, Hopewell Township; two daughters, Karen
Jenkins and her husband Wayne, Hondo, Tx. and Amy Andrews and her husband
David, Millville and five grandchildren, Angela Paroda, George Paroda, IV,
Kelsey Andrews, Stacie Paroda and Heidi Paroda. He was preceded in death by
a brother, Edward Paroda and a sister, Dorothy Lewis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday
afternoon, Sept. 8, at 3:00 O’clock in the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township. Burial will be private. A viewing will
be held at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon between 1:30 and 3:00
O’clock. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions, in Mr.
Paroda’s memory, to the American Heart Association. Written Condolences may
