James L. McMahan, 80, of Pittsgrove
Township, died in S. J. R. Medical Center, on Thursday, April 27 2006.
He had been in failing health for the past 2 years.
Born in Hartford, Tenn., he was the son of the late Anderson and Robbie
Wilde McMahan. He had been a Pittsgrove resident since 1985 and prior to
that had lived in Cedarville.
Prior to his retirement James had worked for Hunt-Wesson Foods in
Bridgeton and before that he had been employed at Wheaton Glass Co. in
Millville.
Survivors include: one son, Ronald McMahan, North Dakota and five
brothers, Rufus “Rudy” Sutton, Upper Deerfield Township, Buford Sutton,
Millville, Buster Freeman, Newport, Tenn., Wendel McMahan, Millville and
Gordon McMahan, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by a daughter,
Marylyn Jones; three sons, Wayne McMahan, Leonard McMahan and J. A.
McMahan; a brother Floyd Freeman; a sister, Pauline Woody and a
grandson, J. A. McMahan, Jr.
Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main St.,
Cedarville, on Monday morning, May 1, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be
in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedarville. A viewing will be held in the
funeral home on Monday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock. Written
