Alice E. Boswell, 74, of Bridgeton,
died in the South Jersey Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, Aug. 15,
2006. She had been in failing health for 2 years and a patient at the
hospital for the past 9 days.
The wife of James E. Boswell, she was born in Sealy and was the daughter
of the late Eliphalet and Pearl Shiles Watson. She had been a Bridgeton
resident for 50 years, coming from Upper Deerfield Township.
She was a member of the Bridgeton Assembly of Goad Church and was an
avid doll collector. Alice and her husband James had celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary this past June.
Besides her husband, survivors include: two daughters, Charlene Hancock
and her husband Francis, Bridgeton and Kimberly J. Weber and her husband
Kirk, Bridgeton; three sons, James L. Boswell and his wife Jennifer,
Vineland, John W. Boswell and his wife Deana, Upper Deerfield Township
and Gregory Boswell, Hopewell Township; two brothers, Elton C. Watson,
Miss. and Donald Watson, Tenn.; two sisters, Marie Spigelmeyer, N. C.
and Clara Shelton, W. Va.; ten grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Fooks and Bernice Volkmar
and a brother Junior Watson.
Her pastor, Rev. Franklin Stanley, will conduct funeral services in the
Bridgeton Assembly of God Church, Indian Avenue, Bridgeton, on Tuesday
morning, Aug. 22, at 11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial
Park, Hopewell Township. A viewing will be held at the church on Monday
evening between 7:00 and 9:00 O’clock and Tuesday morning between 10:00
and 11:00 O’clock, prior to the services at the church. Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper
Deerfield Township. In lieu of flowers the family asks that
contributions in Mrs. Boswell’s memory be made to either the St. Jude’s
Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to
the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church, 424 Indian Avenue, Bridgeton, NJ
