Flossie M. “Tessie” Ford, 72, of
Hopewell Township, died in the South Jersey Regional Medical Center on
Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006. She had been a patient in the hospital for 2 days
and had been in failing health for the past 4 months.
The wife of the late Dale A. Ford, she was born in Bedford County, Va.
and was the daughter of the late Matthew W. and Viola Welch Overstreet.
She had lived at her present address for 39 years, prior to that she had
been a resident of Bridgeton.
Tessie had been a homemaker, but in earlier years she had been employed
as a line-o- type operator with the Salem Sunbeam for several years and
also with JEM Print and the Advertiser Press.
She enjoyed gardening and her pets.
Survivors include: one daughter, Cynthia A. Tobolski and her husband
Robert, Stow Creek Township; one son, Dale Alan Ford and his wife Debra,
Shiloh; two brothers, Hubert Overstreet, Vineland and Bennie Overstreet,
Bedford, Va. two grandchildren, Lauren A. Ford and Kaitlin A. Ford and
several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers,
Rev. Abner Burks Overstreet and Matthew “Cracker” Overstreet.
Rev. Paul D. Sprouse, pastor of the Centerton Free Will Baptist Church,
will conduct funeral services in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Saturday morning, Sept. 2, at
11:00 O’clock. Burial will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell
Township. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning
between 10:00 and 11:00 O’clock. Written condolences may be sent to the
