Mildred E. Hemple, age 75, of Upper
Deerfield Township, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, August 12, 2006
at her home.
Born in Toms River, the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy Asay
Brown she was the wife of the late Charles C. Hemple. She had been an
Upper Deerfield Township resident most of her life except for an eleven
year period that she had lived in Bridgeton.
Before her retirement in 1993, Mrs. Hemple had been employed with the
Suburban Propane Company in Bridgeton for 40 years.
She was an active member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Millville
where she served as a church greeter, a member of the Altar Guild, the
Order of St. Luke and the Church Vestry. She was also head of the church
Prayer Vine and the Children’s Drama Team as well as handling the church
decorating, the Kitchen Committee and being active with church retreats.
Mildred was a graduate of the Bridgeton High School Class of 1949. She
was an avid reader and bowler and enjoyed her grandchildren’s
activities, traveling and collecting lighthouse replicas.
Surviving are a son, T. Carl Hemple Sr. and his companion Gladys of
Bridgeton; four grandchildren, T. Carl Hemple Jr. and his wife Debbie of
Hopewell township, Melissa and Lauren Hemple of Upper Deerfield Township
and Lindsay Hemple of York, Pa.; two great grandchildren, Evan James
Hemple and Kyle Baxley; two brother-in-laws, Thomas Waller Sr. and
Thomas Hemple; two sister-in-laws, Patsy Brown and Ann Beckett; a
daughter-in-law, Kim Hemple-Miletta; life long close friends, Rev. J.W.
and Helen Vanaman and George and Mary Arnold; several nieces and nephews
including Thomas Waller, Jr., Cathy, Cindy, Suzie, Sandra and Patricia
and several cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Henry “Buck” Brown Jr. and Dorothy
“Sissy” Waller.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State
Highway #77, Upper Deerfield Township on Thursday, August 17 at 11 a.m.
Burial will be made at Fernwood memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
Friends may call on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the services at
the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Mrs. Hemple’s
memory be made to the Christ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 354, Millville,
N.J. 08332.
