Ruth M. Smith, age 74, of Millville
died unexpectedly Thursday evening, August 31, 2006 at her home.
Born in Accomac County, Virginia the
daughter of the late William and Ruth Stratton Poulson, she was the wife
of the late William C. Smith. She had been a Millville resident for 5
years and prior to that had lived in Philadelphia.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Smith had
been employed with TRW Electronics Corporation in Philadelphia for 28
years.
She was a member of the John Wesley
United Methodist Church in Port Norris, enjoyed gospel music and was an
avid traveler.
Surviving are two sons, William C.
Smith, Jr. of Philadelphia and Donald Smith and his wife Deborah of
Millville; two brothers, Emray Poulson and Joseph Poulson and his wife
Liz all of Philadelphia; one sister, Georgia Poulson McClellen of
Philadelphia and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, David Smith, a
daughter, Doris Griffin, three brothers, Henry, John and Ruben and three
sisters, Mildred, Alice and Cora.
Funeral services will be held at the
John Wesley United Methodist Church, Ogden Avenue, Port Norris on
Friday, September 8th at 12 noon.
Burial will be private at the
convenience of the family at Rolling Green Memorial Park in West
Chester, PA.
Friends may call on Friday from 11
a.m. to 12 noon prior to the services at the church.
